The Purpose and Function of Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and the equipment. People, Comfort & Efficiency. Basic Definitions and SI Units. Heat Load Calculation for comfort air conditioning and Refrigeration Systems . Heat Load Calculation case studies - examples are included throughout and are also used to illustrate the limitations and dangers of "Rules of Thumb”. Equipment selection. Safe and reliable equipment sizing. Types of AC&R Equipment. Direct & Indirect Systems. Split Systems, Cassettes, Multi-Splits, An overview of key refrigeration cycle components including Compressors, Evaporators, Condensers, Capillary Tubes and Thermostatic Expansion valves. How the Refrigeration Vapour - Compression Cycle works. Pressure/Temperature/Enthalpy relationships. Refrigerants the Environment and the Law. |
