This two-day Course covers all aspects of ductwork design, specification and good practice for building services installations. Ductwork classification and specification is based on DW144/TM8 and the design analysis section includes static regain, equal friction and constant velocity methods.

Includes basic acoustic design and application to system design covering air handling apparatus, ductwork, grilles and determination of attenuator performance to attain the specified room NR level.

Ductwork and insulation class and specification requirements, Duct types, construction and support methods, Volume control devices and air handlers, Fan types, characteristics and sizing, Ductwork design methods, System pressure drop calculations, Acoustic design considerations, Attenuator sizing and Air handling system commissioning.

At the end of the Course delegates will be able to:

1. Adequately specify, size and design ductwork installations by three different methods.
2. Calculate system pressure drops.
3. Understand ductwork acoustic design and sizing of attenuators.
4. Have knowledge of system commissioning.
