One example of this work involved the Supervision of Reworks to two 620 kW Chillers serving 3 buildings in the Bristol area. These comprised 4 refrigeration circuits and a total of 178 potential points of leakage were identified, each requiring inspection, rectification or replacement. These Chillers had a poor history of severe refrigerant leakage (R407C) and the original Manufacturer had used PTFE Tape extensively on most screwed connections.
Business Edge carefully supervised the strip-down and controlled re-assembly / replacement of joints / components, in order to arrive at a successful Pressurised Strength Test, Leak Test followed by a successful Evacuation & Dehydration procedure, thus returning the Chillers to satisfactory operation with the absolute minimum risk of further refrigerant leakage. These Chillers had previously lost several hundred kilograms of R407C refrigerant.
